The character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The Prophet ﷺ said: "A man was walking along a road when his thirst grew severe. He found a well, went down into it and drank, then came out. There was a dog panting and eating the damp earth out of thirst. The man said: 'This dog is suffering from thirst as I was.' He went back down the well, filled his leather sock with water and gave the dog to drink. Allah thanked him for it and forgave him." They said: "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, is there a reward for us even with animals?" He said: "For every creature with a living liver there is a reward."
