The character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Aisha asked the Prophet ﷺ: "Has any day been harder for you than the day of Uhud?" He said: "I suffered from your people what I suffered, and the hardest was the day of al-Aqaba, when I presented myself to Ibn Abd Yalil ibn Abd Kulal and he did not answer what I asked. I left in distress, walking straight ahead, and only came to myself at Qarn ath-Tha'alib. I raised my head and there was a cloud shading me, and in it I saw Gabriel. He called me and said: 'Allah has heard what your people said to you and how they answered you, and He has sent you the angel of the mountains so that you may order him whatever you wish concerning them.' The angel of the mountains called me, greeted me and said: 'O Muhammad, it shall be as you wish: if you wish, I will bring the two mountains (al-Akhshabayn) together upon them.'" The Prophet ﷺ said: "Rather, I hope that Allah will bring forth from their descendants people who will worship Allah alone, associating nothing with Him."
