The meals of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Aisha said to Urwa: "Son of my sister, we would see the new moon, then another, then a third — three new moons in two months — and no fire was lit in the houses of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Urwa said: "What did you live on?" She said: "The two black things: dates and water. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had neighbours among the Ansar who had milk animals lent to them, and they would send the Messenger of Allah ﷺ some of their milk, and he would give it to us to drink."
