The children of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
We went in with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Abu Sayf the blacksmith, who was the foster father of Ibrahim. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took Ibrahim, kissed him and smelled him. Later we went in to him again while Ibrahim was breathing his last, and the eyes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to shed tears. Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf said to him: "You too, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "O Ibn Awf, it is mercy." Then he followed it with more and said: "The eye weeps and the heart grieves, but we say only what pleases our Lord. O Ibrahim, we are truly saddened by your parting."
